The Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA), in cooperation with Offutt Air Force Base, local jurisdictions, agencies and organizations in the region, has prepared a draft Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) to address compatibility planning around Offutt Air Force Base, located adjacent to the City of Bellevue. The primary objective of the JLUS is to reduce potential conflicts between Offutt Air Force Base and surrounding areas while accommodating new growth and economic development, sustaining economic vitality, protecting public health and safety, and sustaining the operational missions of the base. The Offutt Air Force Base Public Draft JLUS was released on July 15, 2015 for a 30-day public review and comment period ending on August 15, 2015.
